From: Neil Conway Date: Sat, 7 May 2005 05:48:50 +0000 (+0000) Subject: Revert the ld --as-needed patch. This breaks Fedora Core 3, due to a strange X-Git-Tag: REL8_1_0BETA1~849 X-Git-Url: https://granicus.if.org/sourcecode?a=commitdiff_plain;h=d733f110cd68d82d11553a9615f2437d0f19535c;p=postgresql Revert the ld --as-needed patch. This breaks Fedora Core 3, due to a strange interaction between ld, readline, termcap, and psql. The symptom is psql failing with this error on startup: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libreadline.so.4: undefined symbol: BC I'm still trying to find the best way to solve this, but in the mean time I'm reverting the patch in order to unbreak FC3. --- diff --git a/configure b/configure index b4f300d6a6..3a83c0fd0d 100755 --- a/configure +++ b/configure @@ -3622,6 +3622,11 @@ rm -f conftest* CPPFLAGS="$CPPFLAGS $INCLUDES" LDFLAGS="$LDFLAGS $LIBDIRS" +{ echo "$as_me:$LINENO: using CPPFLAGS=$CPPFLAGS" >&5 +echo "$as_me: using CPPFLAGS=$CPPFLAGS" >&6;} +{ echo "$as_me:$LINENO: using LDFLAGS=$LDFLAGS" >&5 +echo "$as_me: using LDFLAGS=$LDFLAGS" >&6;} + for ac_prog in gawk mawk nawk awk @@ -3851,7 +3856,6 @@ with_gnu_ld=$ac_cv_prog_gnu_ld - case $host_os in sysv5*) echo "$as_me:$LINENO: checking whether ld -R works" >&5 echo $ECHO_N "checking whether ld -R works... $ECHO_C" >&6 @@ -3905,68 +3909,6 @@ echo "${ECHO_T}$pgac_cv_prog_ld_R" >&6 ld_R_works=$pgac_cv_prog_ld_R esac - -# To simplify the build system, we specify the maximal set of -# libraries to link against when building any executable.
