Merge branch 'js/windows-dotgit'

On Windows, .git and optionally any files whose name starts with a
dot are now marked as hidden, with a core.hideDotFiles knob to
customize this behaviour.

  mingw: remove unnecessary definition
  mingw: introduce the 'core.hideDotFiles' setting
