Release:
a) httpd-std.conf should be tailored by install (from src or
binbuild) even if user has existing httpd.conf
- +1: trawick, slive, gregames
+ +1: trawick, slive, gregames, ianh
b) tailored httpd-std.conf should be copied by install to
sysconfdir/examples
d) Installing a set of default config files when upgrading a server
doesn't make ANY sense at all.
- +1: rbb
+ +1: rbb,
+ ianh - medium/big sites don't use 'standard config' anyway, as it
+ usually needs major customizations
* apachectl should revert to just being an init script and
httpd.sh should be the wrapper for httpd which sources envvars
and allows any options to be passed through
- +1: trawick, gregames
+ +1: trawick, gregames
+ -0.5: ianh - a wrapper which calls another wrapper which then sources
+ envvars ?? i'm not sure why calling apachectl -V is a bad
+ thing.
* Should we always build [support*] binaries statically unless otherwise
indicated?
