  35     <p>The Server consists of a main, parent process and a small, static
  36     number of child processes.</p>

  38     <p>The parent process' job is to manage the child processes. This
  39     involves spawning children as required to ensure there are always
  40     <code class="directive"><a href="../mod/mpm_common.html#startservers">StartServers</a></code> processes
  41     accepting connections.</p>

  44     main thread that accepts connections and passes them to the workers via
  45     a work queue. The worker thread pool is dynamic, managed by a
  46     maintenance thread so that the number of idle threads is kept between
